In this short adventure, Ray takes on the Mighty Hamburger and gets a petition started to ban McDonald's gift certificates at school. Only five people sign the petition. Not to be deterred, with the five who signed up Ray forms the Mad Hatter's Collective.
Soon a plan emerges and they call upon Ray's Granny to pull some strings for them.
By hook and by crook, Granny gets her son involved, who is a famous vegan and the inventor of the Glycemic Index. This is where their plans go awry as Dr. Jenkins co-opts the Collective to solve his most pressing challenge.
Misguided animal rights activists have recently released hundreds of rabbits, mice and rats from their cages in the basement of the Fitzgerald building and they are making their way up to the Dept. of Nutritional Sciences.
Can they save Dr. Jenkins’ department from hundreds of escaped animals?
What happens next blends fiction into reality as seven very different characters (including a few from Alice in Wonderland), work together to make their little part of the world a more humane place.
